For short taxi journeys in Nerja
When you´re in Nerja you can only pre book taxis for long trips ie; to the airport. For short trips like getting to the meeting point on the wedding day or getting around Nerja you must phone the official taxi station just before you want the taxi (taxis are in short supply in Nerja so allow at least 15 min in May/ Oct and 30 min Jun/ July/ Aug/ Sep).

Taxis, Mini-buses, coaches and car hire from Malaga airport
The easiest and quickest way to get to Nerja from Malaga airport is to organise a transfer. ALWAYS! Pre-order your transport because if you take a taxi on arrival at the airport the drivers there charge much more and they rarely know where they´re going when they get to Nerja. Often they will just leave you miles from where you want to go and you´ll have to get another taxi to your accommodation.
Getting a public bus
Getting to Nerja by bus involves first getting from Málaga airport to Málaga city bus station. Although it may well involve a total journey time of around 2 hours, the buses are comfy and air-conditioned.
Getting from Malaga Airport to Malaga Bus Station:
The A Express bus (Line 75) leaves from outside the T3 arrivals area and follows the route:
The buses are every 20 to 30 minutes from 06:25 until 23:30 (to the airport) or 07:00 until 24:00 (from the airport). The journey time is 20 to 30 minutes.
At Málaga Bus Station, purchase a ticket from the Alsa Bus Company office. The Nerja bus usually goes from bay 38.

The journey time is approximately 1 hour 25 minutes on a ‘normal’ bus and about 1 hour on a direct bus. The current cost is approx 4.50€ one way.

Car hire
I rarely recommend car hire because finding street parking is very difficult and it´s easier to get around town on foot. However, car hire can work out cheaper than a taxi and out of season (Oct to May) parking is not too bad. There are several municipal car parks but they can be expensive . There are also several car parks that are very cheap, 1€ per day. You pay the person at the entrance and they give you a ticket to put in the windscreen.
BEWARE! The cheapest car hire quote can often be deceptive. Choose a reputable company with a good review score.
